Chamber business resilience campaign has set the bar high

By Jessica Brookes

A Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce campaign to help businesses manage risk, become more agile and respond to change has been hailed a success. Raise the BAR - a business adaptability and resilience campaign – featured case studies, blogs, videos and articles from Chamber members who shared their advice and experiences. The campaign – sponsored by

Western Union - featured contributions from 20 different organisations, based around business fundamentals, technology, going global and leading people.

‘Our Raise the BAR campaign delivered crucial insight from firms’

Being able to change in order to

adapt to external circumstances and new ways of working is a critical part of business success. However, according to research from McKinsey, 70 per cent of transformations fail.

Henrietta Brealey, director of

policy and strategic relationships at the Chamber, said: “Our Raise the BAR campaign delivered crucial insight from firms and provided advice and guidance on a whole host of issues connected to business adaptability and resilience. “We were really pleased to see

firms sharing the content and their experiences, using the hashtag and getting involved in conversations about being agile and responsive to business challenges. At a time when businesses are being faced with a number of challenges, including Brexit, technology changing the world of work and growing concerns of a global recession, this campaign was crucial in aiding businesses to confront these challenges head on. “I’d like to thank each and every

one of the businesses who took part and everyone who shared their experiences on Twitter and LinkedIn, discussing openly and honestly about their experiences and insight in order to help more businesses adapt in this changing world.”

All the campaign’s case studies, blogs, and videos are available on Twitter, using the #RTB19

• Automate repetitive tasks allowing service desk agents to focus on critical tasks.

• During peak periods in a service desk environment, the AI system offloads the burden on the service desk agents by providing the capabilities of answering incoming telephone calls from users, clients and VIP staff through a speech recognition system, which interprets the request of a user.

• Similarly, the system further supports a service desk by acknowledging and replying to email messages and instant messages from users.

• Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) compliant web-based incident management portal.
