Thoughts Of Vacationing Outside of Florida?

Our main focus in The New Barker is to promote dog-friendly Florida. But, this fun package, offered by Little River Inn on the gorgeous Mendocino Coast in California, was just too good not to feature. Cally Dym, innkeeper at the beautiful and historic Inn, believes dogs are part of the family. Her family-owned resort is offering an incomparable experience for vacationing with dogs. The crown jewel of their dog-centric hospitality is the River Dog Package, offered June 1 through October 31. It includes a canoe trip for you and your dog atop a purpose-built, super stable craft. Dogs are allowed to walk the entire property at Little River

Inn. There is also a cozy parlor in the main building where dogs and their humans can dine together. Miles of hiking trails surround the property and the beach across the street is dog friendly. The Inn is a hit with humans too. There is a day spa and full-service salon, a 9-hole Audubon-certified golf course and regulation tennis courts. Every room has ocean views and their award-winning, chef-driven restaurant takes advantage of seasonal local bounty such as mushrooms, crab, and salmon. The Inn offers dog-friendly rooms for every budget,

including two private coastal cottages. The Inn’s wedding planners even incorporate dogs into ceremonies on request. If we were to head anywhere outside dog friendly Florida, this would be on our bucket list.
