The 2018 Tampa Heart Walk raised $4.3 million. More than 35,000 people came out to Raymond James Stadium for the walk. The New Barker was a co-sponsor of the dog-friendly portion of the walk, Barks For Hearts, with Tampa General Hospital and the American Heart Association.

Thanksgiving morning, a record-breaking crowd of more than 4,000 gathered for the 4th Annual Goody Goody Turkey Gobble. The race benefits LIVESTRONG, a YMCA program for cancer survivor’s and their families. 100 percent of the money raised went to the program across the entire Tampa YMCA association. After the run, everyone was treated to a delicious complimentary breakfast by Goody Goody Burgers in the Plaza at Amalie Arena. Reeve’s Volkswagen, who provided the pace car, was a sponsor, as was The New Barker. The race, as it’s always been, is dog friendly, and there were lots of dogs who joined their humans. Top row, left to right: Jersey with Jaycee and Jessie; the Quentin stare down for a Goody Goody Burgers breakfast; Lucky the Doxie, post walk with his human; Lady seemed quite pleased with her time. Right: Winston the Corgi. His human said, “He’s been a very good friend.” Photographs by Anna Cooke.
