In the spring of 2012, Jordan Karcher unexpectedly stumbled upon a dog adoption event. He was not planning, nor was he prepared to adopt a dog when he’d left his house that morning. “But when a malnourished, brown and white Dalmatian crawled into my lap, it was clear that I would be welcoming a new member to my family,” said Jordan. “She immediately became the center of my life, and I cannot imagine a day without her.

Meeting Molly opened Jordan’s eyes to the world of
animal rescue. “I had familiarity with the work undertaken by rescue organizations and shelters prior to Molly, but I never truly knew the urgency and magnitude of the animal overpopulation and animal welfare issues in our country. When I learned that over 2 million dogs were euthanized in the U.S each year, there was no way I could be a sideline observer.” Molly serves as Jordan’s daily inspiration. He sets out to
create coffees that “catalyze sustainable change at the ground level, while also providing the perfect excuse to enjoy 15 more minutes with your best friend each morn- ing,” he said. With 20 percent of all profits going to shelters and rescue groups, “I really made this as challenging as possible, lopping off a good chunk of profits to put back into animal organizations while still making sure there’s enough cash [to keep things going]” said Jordan. He admits that the company has sometimes “scrambled to figure out how we can weather the worst times.” But, he hopes every coffee sipping, rescue loving, pet parent gives his coffee a try and “joins us in changing the world one cup and one pup at a time.”
