CLASSIC FLORAL DESIGN
Flowers are an integral part of any wedding - from bridal bouquets, to centrepieces and church décor.
Make sure you choose a florist who can bring your floral ideas to fruition. After all, the flowers you choose will set the scene for your wedding day.
Creative cakes
The cake is an iconic part of any wedding day. Designing it to perfectly fit your personalities is key
G
ladys May Cakery says semi-naked and drip cakes are big trends for 2019, as well as a rise in fondant cakes, which are designed
to complement themed weddings.
The talented cake makers in Ryde has had orders from customers who are planning Christmas weddings, art deco themed nuptials and has even created the perfect cake to match a Harry Potter wedding. Many couples love the idea of having something completely unique — some design it themselves and others ask owner, Cara Watson, to design something especially for them.
Traditional white wedding cakes with floral designs remain popular, while cupcake towers are being requested less than last year. Although several couples are choosing to have both a wedding cake and a cupcake tower if they have a large number of guests.
When it comes to flavour, couples are still shunning the traditional fruit cake in favour of sponge. Gluten-free and vegan options are becoming more popular now, with couples opting to provide additional cupcakes to cater
for dietary requirements, or assigning a whole tier of the cake to vegan or gluten free guests.
"I've also had a couple of rainbow sponge requests this year which is always fun," says Cara.
Cara trained at Le Cordon Bleu for a year and worked as a pastry chef in London before starting her own business two years ago in January.

Together, they create natural, simple, but spectacular installations that are designed to be remembered. They describe their style as one of scale and opulence, a ‘faded splendour’.
