LONG ASHTON GOLF CLUB LIMITED

PLATE 37 Left George Weeks the Club’s landlord, Captain in 1931-33 with

Lieut-Col.

Gardner part-time Hon. Secretary Courtesy of Bystander

In 1969 the second major change took

place as it was felt that the role of the Board of the Limited Company and that of the Committee should be segregated. Te move that had begun in 1962 was completed with the transfer of all the shares in the Limited Company to four Trustees who hold the shares on behalf of the Members. Tis new format has remained in place with

few changes up to the present time with the Board consisting of 4 Trustees and 3 Directors, at present these are as follows:-

Directors and Trustees

P. M. Kemp (Chairman) A. I. Campbell B. Teobald J. Wrigley

Directors

R.C. Bassett A.H. Randell A.F. Shipman

Te present role of the Company

is primarily to act as a Trustee on behalf of the members for the valuable assets of the land and the Clubhouse. Te Directors of the Limited Company have become less and less involved in the day to day running of the Club and now the Limited Company has no representation
