saw further changes in the Clubhouse staff but they were evidently not satisfactory even though one couple had had previous experience at Saltford Golf Club. Later, Mrs Sudbrook (Stewardess) must have proved her worth since she was paid a 5% bonus on catering takings above £80 per month. No fewer than ten Stewards and Stewardesses were employed in the 60’s and
70’s culminating with George and Sylvia Pearce who joined in 1980 and were the last of this traditional golf club appointment at Long Ashton. Te Pearces leſt in 1985 when it was decided to appoint a Clubhouse Manager, Roy Garland, to look aſter the bar and day-to-day running of the Clubhouse. Roy is today ably assisted by Roz, Dawn and Neil (Colour Plate 22). From 1986 to 1990 the Club undertook its own catering under the supervisory control of Carol Cooper, and later Moira Frankcom and Mary Seager. Te catering has since been sub-contracted with the appointment of Roy and Eileen Snape in September 1990 to be succeeded a year later by Mike and Clare Kerley who are with the Club today.
