Kristin Cork, Be Yoga B
e.Yoga emerged from the inspiration of simply, truly just
Be.ing. Kristin has been studying yoga for over 20
years and teaching for 18 years. You'll fi nd Kristin on the mat during classes & trainings, in the offi ce & on retreats, creating a loving space for you to just Be!
1. Why are you passionate about your specialty? My life changed dramatically physically, mentally and emotionally
when I began taking yoga classes 20 years ago and since then I’ve wanted to share the many benefi ts that allow us to be happier and more at ease.
2. What sets you apart from other yoga practitioners? I share my love of yoga in 3 different ways: 1) I specialize in private
individual sessions working with stress in the body and mind, injuries and postural patterns that create imbalance. Sessions are customized to meet each person exactly where they are; 2) I have been organizing and leading yoga retreats and adventures off the mat and in the world for the last 11 years; 3) I’ve created 2 unique Immersions / Yoga Teacher Trainings that weave my 18 years of teaching yoga into a 4-6 month journey.
3. Tell us about your Yoga Teacher trainings.
100 Hr “Be.Within” Immersion offers an opportunity to dive in more deeply to yoga postures and alignment while exploring different philoso- phies that connect the ancient art of yoga with modern day yoga. 200 Hr “Be.Teaching From Within” helps to strengthen one's uniqueness and gives them skillsets to take into their teachings.

www.NaturalNutmeg.com 43 H Tory Brogan, Hartford Sweat

Schedule a bridal party, ladies’ day out, work party, with a personal class for deep relaxing yoga, de-stress & team build- ing, work up a sweat together with a memorable experience, we even have black-lights, food & drinks, and more for a spe- cial touch. We offer Yoga at corporate and private functions off-site at your offi ce or venue of choice.
1. Why are you passionate about your business?
I love that we’re in the business of changing lives. People come into the studio from all walks of life and we can give them a break from the daily grind. When you work for a large company you can get consumed in your job and we are here to help people learn balance and improve their life.
2. What sets Hartford Sweat apart from other yoga studios?
Diversity! Hartford itself is a very diverse city, so we have a wide diversity of students from different countries, traveling clients, theatre cast, corporate, college, and we hear so many inspirational stories. The diversity of classes is broader than a specialty studio that lets people pick what they want as life/ seasons change and their mood changes even day to day.
3. What can clients expect from attending class?
Of course a really great workout, but what makes it special is a strong community environment, lots of laughter, and the opportunity to make great friends. We have experienced instructors that will modify and meet anyone where they are in their yoga practice to make it accessible, enjoyable, and the right level of personal challenge.
4. What plans do you have for the future of Hartford Sweat?
We have lots of room for growth and we really like sup- porting local business. The studio is right in the middle of downtown so we integrate city living with fi tness. In the fu- ture, we’ll be reaching further into the local community and partnering with Hartford businesses for employee wellness and life balance. I think this adds well to the collaborations we have with small businesses already – some events we’ve done are: Barre at the Brewery with Hog River Brewing, Yoga Day at the Park with the Hartford Yard Goats, River Flow Yoga and River Barre with Hartford’s Riverfront Recapture, SUP Yoga on the Farmington River with Collinsville Canoe & Kayak, SUP Yoga and Sunset Tour in the Great Island Estuary with Blackhall Outfi tters, and sampler Sunday – people bring food or samples to the studio and yoga students get to sample local food/product!
5. Tell us about the best memory you have about being a holistic business owner.
I love seeing people have bright spots in their day as they come through the studio or workshop or events we’ve done – seeing them feeling good, smiling, and happy is why we do it.
