1. Why are you passionate about your specialty?

I absolutely love helping people get back to living their life pain-free and doing the things they want, without drugs or surgery. Helping someone avoid surgery, or an expectant mother enjoying her pregnancy without discomfort, or a teen perform- ing their best at school sports, are just some of the little daily miracles that chiropractic has been able to provide our patients.

2. What sets you apart from other practitioners?

We pride ourselves on using the most advanced methods to detect issues that could interfere with someone’s health. Instant test results allow us to determine if we can help along with what course of action to take. When you take that level of testing and combine it with nearly 20 years of clinical experiences, I’d say that’s why we’re able to help people get results.

3. What can patients expect from working with you?

In simplest terms, they get a caring doctor who actually listens and provides direction to a better healthier lifestyle. 4. What plans do you have for the future? We are always striving to improve our patients experience.

We’ve collaborated with another Chiropractor and award-win- ning Naturopathic Doctor to be able to meet the needs of more people.

5. Tell us about the best memory you have about being a holistic practitioner.

The best memory is when my practice turned 10 years old. It

was simply amazing how far the practice and I had come, along with the number of lives we had been able to change. A truly humbling experience.

6. What do you like the most about being a part of Natural Nutmeg?

Being part of a community of like-minded people is just

wonderful. There are so many great articles and resources from terrifi c people and businesses. I’m honored to be part of that.

7. What is your favorite place to travel, your favorite food, and your favorite hobby?

I have so many places yet to visit in the world, but so far,

I’d have to say the Caribbean is my favorite. As for favorite food, defi nitely Italian! Which is probably why my favorite hobbies are rock climbing and hiking...to burn off the calories!!!

olistically-minded integrative medicine APRN working with newborn through adult patients offering primary

care and chronic disease management to include IV vitamin/ nutrient therapy, bio-identical hormone therapy, nutrition, supplements and lifestyle change counseling and DNA

swabbing to drive best medication options particularly in patients with mental health concerns.

1. Why are you passionate about your specialty?

I strive to teach lifestyle changes and encourage healthy habits. However, supplements, and at times, medications, also play a part. I am enrolled in the Integrative Medicine Fellowship (for MDs, DOs and APRNs) at the University of Arizona. I will be starting my second certifi cation in Psychiatric/ Mental Health in the Spring as integrative mental health is becoming another passion of mine.

2. What can patients expect from working with you?

I see myself as a partner and coach to my patients and practice relationship-based medicine. Patients can expect a collaborative approach to their medical and health concerns.

3. What plans do you have for the future?

I recently moved my practice and am now seeing patients within the Connecticut Center for Health in Middletown. Working with a team of highly experienced Naturopaths has been a fantastic experience. We are looking to expand our IV vitamin/nutrient therapy program and anticipate growing my patient panel signifi cantly.

4. What is your favorite place to travel?

I recently traveled to Cuba to learn from their (very holistically-minded) medical doctors. In Cuba, MDs practice much more like Naturopaths in the US because there is very limited access to medications there. The primary care system is heavily focused on preventive medication and early detection of illness.

teaching exercises, guided meditation, and health coaching. I hope to help each person restore balance in their lives and heal themselves.

I 1. Why are you passionate about your specialty?

I love the study of Chinese medicine because it is a complete system of medicine which takes the whole person into account, not just the disease. Working with people to help them improve their lives is very rewarding and I learn from each patient as well.

2. What sets you apart from other practitioners?

I have 24 years of experience helping people using the tools of Chinese medicine, acupuncture, herbal medicine, health coaching, qigong and guided meditation.

3. What plans do you have for the future of your practice?

I am now teaching qigong exercises and meditation locally and am bringing individuals to wellness retreats in various places worldwide. In addition, I hope to develop a line of products and write a book on my wholistic view of health.

4. What is the best memory you have about being a holistic practitioner? A patient of mine had trouble getting pregnant for years and was able to

conceive after a series of acupuncture and herbal medicine. 5. What do you like most about being a part of Natural Nutmeg? Having a magazine where natural health is the focus is a wonderful

resource. The people I have worked with at the magazine really care about us as contributors. It feels like a family!
