1. Why are you passionate about your specialty? I am passionate about self-discovery, exploration, and healing
which is what I am fortunate enough to support patients with every day. There are not enough places where individuals can come to breathe, receive unconditional acceptance, positive reflection, and simply just be. It is the most fulfilling and rewarding career to be able to support individuals throughout their journey in creating new and alternative narratives, goals, and visions for themselves and their lives.
2. What sets you apart from other practitioners in the holistic field?
I, along with my colleagues at Holistic Health & Healing Center, are unique in that we utilize a holistic approach in our treatment of patients. Rather than just addressing the presenting symptom(s), we explore the underlying causes by considering and assessing physical, mental, emo- tional, social, and spiritual aspects of health and well-being. Throughout the use of many alternative and holistic practices, including psycho- therapy, mindfulness and meditation, mind-body practices, art therapy, biofeedback and many others, we work on restoring our patients’ bodies back to natural balance to encourage and support the body’s own self-healing. This creates long-term success and sustainability.
3. What can patients expect from working with you?
Patients can expect to be empowered to explore and discover experiences, emotions, and patterns in thought and/or behavior that interfere or undermine their functioning and well-being. This will facilitate in creating self-awareness and exploration which will further enhance the ability to manage life stressors, utilize and explore coping skills, and build resiliency.
4. What plans do you have for the future?
As the Clinical Director of Holistic Health & Healing Center, I work closely with the owner and founder, Tara Paine, LCSW. We have plans to continue expanding, with a new office in West Harford, CT opening in the new year. We also are in the midst of adding additional holistic services to further offer a wrap-around approach to meeting our patients’ needs.
5. What do you like the most about being a part of Natural Nutmeg?
My favorite aspect about being part of Natural Nutmeg is being able to learn, explore, and collaborate with like-minded individuals who maintain the same mindset of wanting to make a difference while utilizing natural health and wellness strategies.
6. What is your favorite place to travel, your favorite food, and your favorite hobby?
My favorite place to travel is well, everywhere! But if I had to
pick one place, it would be California. My favorite food is absolutely anything chocolate and my favorite hobby would have to be party planning/decorating!
