Matt takes over at Derby Conference Centre
It’s a changing of the guard at The Derby Conference Centre, with the introduction of new Managing Director Matt Hutchings. He will take over from Mike
Ebbitt, who is retiring after 44 years in the industry - including ten years at The Derby Conference Centre. Matt said: “I’m really excited
to inspire the fantastic team at The Derby Conference Centre to think differently and engage them to begin a journey together in which we’ll evolve the Centre into the premier venue it can be. That potential is part of the reason why I was inspired to join The Derby Conference Centre.”
Tax relief expert joins Shorts’ Radius team
Shorts has appointed R&D tax reliefs expert Marianne Lindsay. Marianne joins Shorts’ Radius team as a senior manager, helping businesses claim their full entitlement to Government- backed tax reliefs for innovation. She has an Animal Science
degree and a background in agricultural and pharmaceutical sales. She joins Radius after several years working at a specialist R&D tax relief consultancy using her scientific knowledge to help innovative companies claim R&D tax reliefs. Scott Burkinshaw, Tax Partner
and Head of Radius, said: “Marianne is an excellent specialist recruit to strengthen our existing team and gives us much needed additional capacity and expertise to service our clients and continue to grow. We now have one of the most highly qualified R&D teams in the North.”

Vicky Williams has been promoted to Director of Commercial Services at bus company trentbarton. Vicky joined trentbarton in 2014 as Commercial Manager from a similar
role at Go South Coast. Before joining the public transport sector, she spent a decade in banking and insurance. Her new role encompasses key issues such as timetabling and fares
strategy across trentbarton and Kinchbus, plus partnership working with stakeholders including councils and other local authorities. Vicky said: “I’m very proud to have been made a director. It is such
