Within linear regression, the manifestation of a nonlinear (i.e., curvilinear) response versus concentration profile within a given concentration range for a quantitative bioanalytical method. From a statistical approach, curvature is the rate at which the slope changes. It is the second derivative of any function; for a straight line, the second derivative is ‘0’, for a quadratic regression model (also a linear function), the rate is positive or negative.
• 100 cut point
The value at, or above, which instrument response is considered positive and below which response is considered negative (in an antidrug antibody/ imunogenicity assay).
• 101 cytochrome P450
A superfamily of heme-containing enzymes that can metabolize a variety of compounds via multiple pathways.
• 102 daughter ion
An electrically charged product of the reaction of a particular parent ion in mass spectrometry. Typically, occurs in mass spectrometric analysis in the collision quadrupole as the result of high-energy interactions between the analyte and carrier gas. Also known as "product ion".
• 103 deconvolution
In the context of biomolecule mass spectra, charge deconvolution is a program or algorithm that identifies peaks associated with different charge states for given molecular entities, and combines these into simplified spectra involving only mass (not m/z) and response. Deconvolution may also be applied to deal with peaks arising from isotopic distributions in the same kinds of molecules, in a process called deisotoping.
