finally succumbed. Fred was never a quiet fellow, so the end of the wake which followed his funeral, as described by Mr Cuss, was entirely in character – just as we were about to leave two huge explosions rang out setting off car alarms. We all felt the blast. This was followed by both heavy machine gun fire and lighter pistol shots. Luckily the bar maid came to clear some plates and informed us that the police firearms team use the former brewery site behind the pub for train- ing! Our pulse rates slowly returned to normal. off to Bushy Park for the excellent Hanworth Classic Car Show. The Outreach team put on our excellent roadshow stand and we were kept busy all day. Bob and Kelly Webb called for reinforce- ments and they arrived in the shape of Ian Keen and partner Karen, who then manned the tombola, lolly game and merchandise continually during the afternoon. The rest of us were working hard as well, supplemented with lashings of ice cream. The next time the stand was erected was back

Zoe Cano, the BTM Outreach motorcycle envoy, was the centre of attraction, signing copies of her latest book and featuring her truly amazing steed as the centre piece of the display, a Honda Rebel 500cc custom bobber. It was also a joy being able to welcome our new President, Damon Hill, to the stand, he spent some time talking to the team and posing for pictures.
