at and associated with the Museum, we were unsuccessful in our attempt to become Art Fund Museum of the Year 2018. The very worthy winner was Tate St Ives which, along with the other three finalists (Postal Museum, London; Ferens Art Gallery, Hull and the Glasgow Women’s Library), made the standard incredibly high so we were thrilled to be one of the final five. Throughout the process we presented the Museum at its very best and, with the incredible force of combined support from volunteers,

Brooklands Trust Members, staff and supporters, provided the judges with an unforgettable visit when they came on 22nd June. In their final citation they said, ‘The judges found the experience of Brooklands Museum thoroughly enjoyable and were deeply impressed by the passion, knowledge and enthusiasm displayed by every member of the dedicated team. It is a truly exhilarating place’. Although we did not secure the £100,000 top
prize, what we did gain through our publicity campaign was a huge increase in awareness for the Museum and its achievements around the
