Museum can develop and will be building on the firm foundations laid by its progress to date and the strong support offered by the BTM and volunteers, and the clear sense of community that she has found here. Neil Bailey concluded the evening by thanking

ince becoming your Chairman in 2014, I have tried to keep my bi-monthly messages
development of the Museum, with the comple- tion of the lottery funded Flight Shed and Aircraft Factory development and the re-opening of the Finishing Straight. To complement this project the Brooklands Trust Members had agreed to raise funds for a recreation of the original Scoreboard. It was decided that this should be as near as possible an exact replica of the original, and accordingly the production process was both lengthy and expensive. We realised that even with all the normal fund-raising efforts, including the proceeds of two winter raffles, we would still fall short of the total amount needed, so we introduced a limited Life Membership scheme, and the income from this bridged the funding gap. We were subsequently also able to fund the safety barriers required for use on the Finishing Straight, whenever there are competitive events. This was easily the most challenging fund-raising project we have undertaken and I sincerely thank all of you who contributed to the project in whatever capacity. I think all members who visit
