Captain Youghal Golf Club hosted her 2018 Captain’s Prize on the stunning 18 hole course located high above
the
Atlantic Ocean, with mag- nificent views looking out
across Youghal Bay and up the River BlackWa- ter. The 18 hole Stroke competition was played last week over two days on the superbly manicured course, and the huge entry of lady members paid tes- tament to the popularity of Lady Captain, Paula. Blazing sunshine

the Clubhouse, a Cham- pagne Reception on the Terrace preceded the Presentation of Prizes and the superb dinner which was served.

Paula’s family and friends, Captain YGC Joe Kirk, Guests, and lady mem- bers, the winner’s name was not disclosed until the end of the presentation when Annette McCarthy, with a superb score of 67 net, was declared winner
of the prestigious Lady Captains Prize 2018 and presented with the magnif- icent Prize.
A delighted
Annette said she was ‘over the moon’ to win Paula’s beautiful prize, and would treasure it always. With flowers on every
table and wine and cham- pagne for the toasts, a beautiful meal was served and enjoyed by all, before the music started and the dancing got underway un- til well into the early hours of the morning. Congratulations, Paula,
on a fantastic Lady Cap- tain’s Day that had it all. Well done, also, to all the committee mem- bers, helpers and friends who worked very hard to organise the evening for a Lady Captain who is not only very successful, but also very much admired by all.
