Fe 16 Last Thursday evening

we travelled to Ballygarvan to face Ibane Gaels in the 2nd

1 hurling championship. Again like the 1st

round of the Premier round we

went into this game with- out a lot of hurling being done and it showed during the first half with the con- cession of soft goals. We were able to goal a couple of times ourselves to stay in touch and also a men- tion to Leo Hennessy who scored a point with a fine sideline

cut.

Half time:

Midleton 2-6 Ibane Gaels 3-3. We started the second half brilliantly with 6 un- answered points only to allow Ibane to goal once again to stay in touch. The sides swapped points then

blocked a goal bound shot. Credit must go to both sets of players who served up a good hours hurling in stifling heat. We move on to the County semi final in the first week of Septem- ber. Team: Brion Saunder-

Family Quiz Night On Sunday evening

last we had great support for our Family Quiz night

fundraiser in aid of the inaugural Paddy Dunlea Tournament. On a glori- ous hot summer’s evening we had over 26 families in the lounge for 8 rounds of questions, ranging from New York GAA, GAA and TV. There was a fantastic atmosphere and everyone in attendance

enjoyed

the evening immensely. The support from fam- ilies

across our juvenile

club and the wider clubs to support this quiz was overwhelming. To every- one who bought and sup-

ported a ticket we thank you. We would also like to acknowledge and thank all those who provided spot prizes to us on the night. We have raised the funds needed to host and run the tournament. We would like to remind all fami- lies that the tournament is running next Saturday from 12.30 to 6.30pm and we will be arranging music in the lounge that evening and all our families and club members across are invited to attend. Thank you once again for the

overwhelming support we received for this fundraiser, your support is greatly ap- preciated.
