info@eastcorkjournal.ie Carrigtwohill Vintage Memorial Run A Great Success and More to Come

by JOHNNY BUCKLEY The

Carrigtwohill

Vintage Memorial Run started off with an abso- lutely fantastic real buzz around the village. The weather was in our fa- vour and Jimmy, Willy

and Dennie most certain- ly were looking down on us helping to make the day such a success. The run was led out

by Jimmy McCarthy’s grandson, Butty McCa- rthy on his grandfather’s Fordson Major, followed

by his father Timmy Mc- Carthy (McCarthy Agri Sales) on his Cropmaster. Right behind them came Conor McCarthy, joined by his daughter sitting proudly in the baby seat of the Claas. Jimmy Mc- Carthy (Jas McCarthy

Transport) followed on

in his eye catching JCB 3cx. There was great sup- port from Vintage Clubs near and far some, with some arriving from other counties. We were blown away with the amazing turn out. Over 80 trac-

tors ranging from old to modern, and just shy of 30 cars, rolled out on the day. We really can’t thank everyone enough, howev- er a special thank you has to be given to Dean and Gillian Bradley who took the reins on the car run.

A big thank you to Bre- da, Anthony and Shane of The Cousins Home Bar, Carrigtwohill, who gave us a lovely warm welcome

from start to

finish, and to Knockraha Hall for the cup tea and biscuits on the pit stop
