wovens creates elegant, well-tai- lored garments and accessories from comfort- able, washable cotton yarns for women and men, in sizes petite to plus. As master weaver and col-


orist, I work on seven, 50” wide handlooms. Assistants Cindy and Karen handweave the fabric, thread by thread. Each piece is woven work of art. After being woven, the fabric is cut off the loom, pre-


shrunk, dried, pressed and readied for the cutting table. I cut each part of the garment, one piece at a time. Only

I can cut the fabric into the piece’s component parts, in- suring that my initial design perceptions of the work are carried into completion. Next, the pieces are overlocked and Cindy constructs the garment. We have added a new twist to the clothing


line-fleece vests with handwoven decorative facings and collars. I design all the work and have two wonderful assistants who help me with the production.

wildlife. I have been painting for over 25 years, have won numerous awards and have been featured artist in several shows. I use many techniques from airbrushing, to splat- ter, to wash, to brush, and some I developed. I started painting watercolors early in my career and have transi- tioned to acrylic paint in the last few years. For a three dimensional effect in some of my work I start with an out of focus background and work my way forward to the fine detailed foreground. My inspiration comes from those special glimpses of nature that are always a treasure to see and experience when enjoying the great outdoors with my three daughters.

My creative process involves inspiration from wildlife,


whether it is a specific animal, specific plants, specific background or specific color combinations. After the idea of what to paint comes the photography and research of the subject matter. Some things in nature are random but some are very specific to the number a certain feathers to different coloration during different seasons. Some pieces take months to complete as others just take weeks de- pending on size and detail. Chandler received a 2017 Art in the Wilds Award of
