Issues with mould arise by lack of air flow and poor ventilation. While most houses are energy efficient with double glazing, insulation and draught excluders, these home improvements can mean natural ventilation is reduced and moisture from the air can’t escape. Whether it’s steam from the boiling kettle, drying your washing indoors or all that hot air from simply breathing and talking, daily activities can significantly affect humidity resulting in peeling wallpaper, damp
cupboards and wet windowsills. At Glengarry, their range of Positive Input Ventilators (PIV) work to improve air flow and the quality of air while also protecting the fabric of your home.
Unlike extractor fans which simply remove moisture, PIV uses air displacement to supply your home with fresh, filtered warm air which forces out moisture-laden stale air. As warmer air holds more moisture, this combats the problem of recurring condensation by keeping the air temperature regulated. By preventing condensation, this in turn means the threat of black mould is reduced, meaning less fear of health and respiratory issues caused by disturbed mould spores. Glengarry has been Sovereign approved for 20 years, with fully trained and approved installers here to assist with full house ventilators or individual room units.
