WENTWORTH A Very Vintage Visit

Tally-ho! We’re off to Wentworth this winter as, word on the street is, there’s a spiffing new vintage shop perfect for decking out your wardrobe from that bygone era.

As the frost settles, the sparkle seems to lift the charming heritage of the village’s many buildings, adding intrigue and quaint discovery with each visit.

This winter, take a trip around the village and enjoy its many offerings, from shops and eateries to leisurely walks with stunning scenery. Visit the two churches; the former now in ruins and the present with its spectacular interior. Walk down through the parklands and see the deer taking shelter under the trees, passing by the many snaking lakes that entwine the greenery. Marvel at the many historic follies which are hidden in the village.

If shopping is on the cards, the Old Building Yard is a cove filled with treasures; from vintage

clothing to antiques, uncover what lies inside the many independent stores.

Or head down to the garden centre to the courtyard to see the little shop and its mystical wares and sweet smelling candles and fragrances.

For food, Main Street is where you need to be; the delightful village tea room is a little gem with cakes, sandwiches and china-pot tea. Or feel the warmth of the George with their hearty, homemade dishes and plenty of real ales.

A community built on heritage and industry thanks to the Fitzwilliams, Wentworth village makes for a great trip out this winter.
