DIRECTOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME SIX-DAY PROGRAMME

As a director, someone responsible for the daily operations of a company, organisation, or corporate division, who do you go to for direction? What if you could meet and learn with like-minded individuals? Our six-day programme asks what your vision is for your business and looks at how to get your people to make this vision happen. This practical how-to programme will help you to get

the best from your business and your employees. If you’re a director or senior manager in a company, this programme is designed to make a real difference in the ability of your business to consistently achieve objectives. It will give you the tools you need to make your business thrive and survive.

NEW – FIRST-LINE MANAGER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME – FIVE-DAY PROGRAMME

First-line managers operate their departments. They assign tasks, manage work flow, monitor the quality of work, deal with employee problems and keep the middle and executive managers informed of problems and successes at ground level in the company. A 2011 Harvard Business School working paper

pointed out that when a company undertakes the task of improving internal and external operational processes, the first-line managers are the best source of information on true process problems and can often offer the best, most workable solutions. This is because they have first- hand views of the results of company policy, strategic initiatives, marketing and production capabilities. A first-line manager must have the ear of upper managers. First-line managers can be project managers, functional managers, product managers or general managers. Whatever their tasks, their roles in the information chain to top management govern the quality of the information they receive from the employees in their work groups. If first-line managers are given a voice in company fact-finding for planning purposes, line employees will tend to proactively report problems and offer solutions to improve company processes and procedures. Our five-day programme is focused on the key topics

needed to be effective and efficient within a first-line manager role – where decisions made often have implications on others including those in other departments and upon internal and external customers and partner organisations.
