CHAMBER NEWS

BUSINESS AWARDS 2017

2017 Chamber Business Awards

The annual search for the region’s Business Awards winners is over. Launched back in February at the

Love Business Conference and Expo, the Chamber has been on the hunt for the best businesses across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, with hundreds of entries submitted across 13 fiercely- fought categories. Upon the closing of the

application process back in May, David Pearson, the Chamber’s Director of Partnerships and Membership Services, said: “You can’t overestimate the value of being part of our Business Awards. Not only does it give companies a chance to promote themselves on local, regional and national platforms, but there is also huge kudos in being shortlisted for an award and even more for winning one.”

‘The Chamber’s congratulations go to all of this year’s winners. We had some really good entries and the judging process, as it is every year, was extremely tough’

The Chamber’s Business Awards

are the only ones where entries are judged purely by the business community. The winners in specific categories will automatically go through to the British Chambers of Commerce regional awards from where they could be go on to win a national award. The 2017 Chamber Business

Awards reached it crescendo with three black-tie gala dinners in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, all culminating in the announcing of the winners as well as the overall Business of the Year award winners. All three gala dinners lived up to

their billing, with the region’s best businesses acknowledged, celebrated and rewarded. Of the evenings and the Business

Awards in general, Chamber President, Geoff Poyzer, said: “The Chamber’s congratulations go to all of this year’s winners. We had some really good entries and the judging process, as it is every year, was extremely tough, but all the winning businesses thoroughly

deserve their success. The standard of competition was extremely high, which clearly shows that despite the political and economic uncertainties of Brexit and a General Election resulting in a minority Government, we have some real success stories of businesses doing very well. All of

the finalists deserve recognition for their success. Over the past 12 months, businesses in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire have been busy keeping calm and carrying on investing, innovating, exporting and growing. These awards are testament to the quality of the businesses we have in this

region and I applaud each and every one of them.” The Chamber’s congratulations go

out to all finalists and winners and its thanks go to all businesses that applied, all sponsors and partners and everybody that has contributed to the 2017 Chamber Business Awards being a huge success.
