Local university dean joins board as chair


Coalville-based emh group, a housing and care provider with 19,000 homes across the East Midlands, has appointed a new Chair to its board. Professor David Russell, Pro


Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Business Law and Social Sciences at the University of Derby, has been a member of the emh group board for one year. He will lead the board of nine members, who each bring a range of skills and experience, to shape the future direction of the organisation. He said: “I am honoured by

Fraser Brown expands dispute resolution team


Fraser Brown has bolstered its dispute resolution team with the appointment of Catherine Gritt, who has joined the firm as an associate solicitor. Catherine will be working with


the firm’s construction department and will share her expertise with the existing property litigation team in everything from commercial and residential property disputes,

R&D specialist joins PKF Cooper Parry as partner


Chris Knott has joined PKF Cooper Parry as a tax partner. He is a specialist in R&D tax and other reliefs and will lead PKF Cooper Parry’s R&D Incentives team across the Midlands. Chris joins from EY Birmingham


where he headed up the innovation incentives team in the Midlands. He has advised on R&D tax relief claims and other incentives at Big Four firms for 17 years – since the R&D incentives were introduced. He is a member of HMRC’s R&D


Consultative Committee, which means he is fully engaged with the design and operation of HMRC’s R&D Incentives schemes in the UK. Membership of this Committee is reserved for specialist professionals and inspectors who have the experience required to contribute at this highest level. Simon Baines, Partner and

Spearing Waite names Oliver Brookshaw as new COO


Spearing Waite has appointed a new Chief Operating Officer. Corporate Partner, Oliver Brookshaw, takes on the new role working alongside the management team of Tom Bower, Jonathan Wheeler and Martin Smith to deliver the firm’s new five-year strategy.
