lunches and dinners, complete with all the trimmings and followed by a disco, throughout December. This year, Doncaster Racecourse has organised a ‘Christmas Live Experience’, which offers a three-course meal, cabaret show a disco and casino. Hotel Van Dyk, An AA-awarded hotel in Chesterfield, is offering business Christmas lunches, which may be better suited to smaller firms or those organising a festive celebration for clients. For those who like to eschew tradition, themed parties


are available at a number of venues. Whittlebury Hall, located near Silverstone Circuit, in Northamptonshire, will


be transporting guests to New York with a Manhattan- inspired night of glitz and glamour. Nottingham’s St James Hotel is hosting stylish Venetian masquerade balls, complete with a three-course meal and a prize for the most impressive mask. Finally, Ringwood Hall Hotel, Chesterfield, is offering a range of party themes, from classic party nights to a Dickensian Christmas crime murder mystery evening and Casino Royale gala. Of course, if a traditional Christmas party is not possible,


why not opt for something different, like an outing to the theatre? Pantomimes are a staple of the festive period, and Cinderella is being performed at Nottingham Playhouse, from 1 December, while Christmas with the Rat Pack is being performed at Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall from 7 December, and includes all the classic Christmas hits.
