Santander supports social enterprises


Santander is renewing its innovative partnership with Crowdfunder to provide additional funding for social enterprises and community projects across the UK. The bank has allocated an additional £200,000 to a second phase of the Santander Changemaker Fund following a successful pilot. Projects that meet the criteria can present ideas on the Crowdfunder website and unlock matched funding if the crowd support the ideas. Sue Douthwaite, Managing

Under Armour deal Fraser Brown Solicitors has advised PlayerLayer in connection with its multi-million-pound deal for the sportswear brand to become the exclusive UK licence partner of American sports apparel giant Under Armour. Fraser Brown has advised


PlayerLayer, which supplies sportwear, on the licence terms and related legal issues. As part of the agreement,

Altius VA steams ahead with major rail contract


Derby-based IT specialist Altius VA has been awarded a national contract to support the delivery of supplier assurance services to Network Rail, Transport for London and other major rail companies. The company, which is headquartered at Wyvern Business Park, has been selected to work with RSSB (Rail Safety and Standards Board) to provide enhancements to RISQS (Railway Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme). RISQS is used by Network Rail,


London Underground and 116 other buyers with over 4,300 supplier members throughout the GB rail industry. Altius VA will provide front-end


IT, verification and management services for RISQS, and process management specialist Capita PLC will deliver audit services. Gary Plant, Managing Director of

Clegg Group has completed works worth £4m to transform a property in Livingston into high-tech laboratories for Eurofins. World leaders in pharmaceutical, food, feed and environmental testing,


Eurofins will be using the new laboratory to test water and pharmaceutical products. Approximately 40% of the overall 58,000sq ft property has been developed, with plans to expand further over the next three years. As part of the five-month-long renovation, Clegg Group also created high-end staff facilities including office space and staff amenities. Alison Clayton, General Manager at Eurofins, said: “We’ve been very

Advisory firm Cooper Parry Corporate Finance has completed the sale of communications company Pure Business Services to PMGC, an independent provider of telecoms and technology services, for an undisclosed sum. The deal, the first of its kind


between two Vodafone total communication partners, has created the third-largest independent provider of mobile services in the UK, with more than 70,000 customers and annual revenues of circa £20m. The Cooper Parry Corporate


Finance team was led by Andy Parker and Sabial Hanif, assisted by Philip Rogers in corporate tax. Sabial Hanif said: “This was


a complex deal in a rapidly changing telecommunications market, which continues the trend of successful exits for entrepreneurs and private equity investors.”
