CHAMBER NEWS

Positive results revealed in satisfaction survey

Results from the recent Chamber satisfaction survey have been collated and analysed. The Chamber satisfaction survey

is one of the main ways in which the Chamber learns about what is working well and where it can improve in order to continue its vision to ‘enhance East Midlands businesses’. As a business representation

organisation, feedback from members is of fundamental importance, and the Chamber’s thanks goes out to all those that took the time to offer their assessment and feedback of current Chamber activity. Overall, the satisfaction rating

has improved by four per cent from last year, with a seven per cent increase in members that informed us that they are extremely satisfied with Chamber membership. This also translated into a reduction in the number of dissatisfied respondents, which reduced by almost half on last year’s results. The four main reasons for

businesses joining the Chamber

David Pearson

were identified as business growth, raising profile, connecting with regional businesses and taking advantage of business information and legislation. Specifically, the wide range of Chamber-led events available to members, including networking, business support and major events, featured as the most important service that the Chamber provides. Despite the overall positive

nature of member responses, there

were various aspects of Chamber activity that members suggested could be enhanced. Comments ranged from the need

to offer a greater range of locations for events across the three counties, the need to showcase more effectively the wide range of products accessible through Chamber membership and the requirement to enhance the Chamber website’s functionality. David Pearson, the Chamber’s

Director of Partnerships and Membership Services, said: “The rise in the satisfaction rating is very pleasing and it is both rewarding and encouraging to see that members are benefitting in large numbers from membership. “However, as with any

organisation, there are areas in which we can improve and we will not be resting on our laurels. Any negative feedback offered in the survey has already been scrutinised and, where necessary, acted on to ensure we continue to offer maximum return on investment to our 4,000+ membership.”
