International trade summit to assist exporters
The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) International Trade Summit is taking place on 12 October at Vox Conference Centre, Birmingham. The summit is designed to provide
companies at all stages of the export journey with knowledge, expertise, advice and contacts to succeed overseas and offers a fantastic opportunity for Chamber members across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire that are, or are considering, exporting. Speakers on the day include Dr Nik
Kotecha of Chamber strategic partner Morningside Pharmaceuticals. This event is not about selling to
businesses or telling them what they already know. It will offer delegates practical advice, invaluable resources and the contacts needed to grow their business and begin the next step on their export journey. There will be a choice of
informative workshops, lively panel
discussions with businesses with export experience from a range of sectors, stimulating speeches from successful exporters and household names and lots of opportunities to network. Take part in interactive breakout
sessions and network with Chambers of Commerce from across the world – and get the skills, knowledge and contacts you need to take your international trade to the next level. What delegates will get on the day: • Dynamic exporters sharing lessons and tips from their experience
• Knowledgeable speakers sharing their insights
• Interactive workshops on the practicalities of exporting
Speakers include: • The Hon Alexander Downer AC, Australian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom
• Dr Nik Kotecha, CEO, Morningside Pharmaceutical
• Elizabeth Gooch, CEO, egsolutions
• Neil Goldman, CEO, Colpac • Shanker Singham, Director of Economic Policy & Prosperity Studies, Legatum Institute
• Alex de Ruyter, Founder of the Centre for Brexit Studies, Birmingham
Laura Howard (pictured), the Chamber’s Head of International Trade, said: “The BCC’s International Trade Summit promises to be a fantastic, not-to- be-missed event which will offer businesses at all stages of their exporting journey an invaluable insight on how to be successful overseas. “The East Midlands Chamber
(Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire) has some fantastic,
forward-thinking and internationally-focused businesses within membership and I would urge these organisations to take advantage of this opportunity.”
