Businesses bowled over by tournament

Building society hits target in record time
In just six months, The Mansfield Building Society has almost reached its two-year fundraising target for Macmillan Cancer Support. Staff at the society chose Macmillan as its charity partner in December 2016 with a commitment to raise at least £5,000 for the charity by December 2018. Macmillan. The staff at The Mansfield are such a hardworking bunch and I had every faith that they would reach their target. What I didn’t anticipate was how quickly they would get there. “This will make a huge difference
to so many people living with cancer through our information centres, helpline and Macmillan professionals working in the community. “For example, £500 could help a
father or mother apply for a grant for childcare during his or her cancer treatment - so the money they have raised could help eight families.”
The FHP team celebrate their win
ground, on Adbolton Lane, had eight teams made up of local firms including Chamber members FHP, Santander, Mazars, Brewin Dolphin, Innes England, Royal Bank of Scotland and Smith Cooper Accountants. The teams battled it out, with FHP taking home the trophy winning
by half a point. Marcus-Adam Tuck, from Fraser Brown, helped organise the
tournament. He said: “This tournament has become an established and much-anticipated event in the work-social calendar. “It is great to see so many young professionals from Nottingham coming together, enjoying sport and raising money for a worthy cause.”
