YEAR 10

Wow, where has the year gone! I cannot quite believe that students have completed a year of their option subjects and this time next year they will be sitting there GCSE exams!

Students have worked incredibly hard this year and I believe they have really enjoyed getting stuck into their option subjects. I have been very impressed as I walk around the school visiting their lessons. It’s great that students feel a sense of pride in their work and are keen to show me this when I see them.

I have sent home this year a massive amount of reward and celebration letters, a lot more than I have in previous years. Students have been rewarded with breakfasts, pizza, ice-skating, air-hop, and paintballing to name a few of the activities.

It has also been great to see Year 10 students flourish in all spheres of school life. We have had lots of success with sporting events; 10 Tors, Lions club, school production, and photography.

I am really excited to see what the next academic year will bring!

TUTEE OF THE WEEK

Tutors nominate a student for demonstrating one the school’s core values; resilience, happiness, ambition, dynamism, creativity, success. They are rewarded in assembly with a certificate and they will be entered into a prize draw in the end of year Celebration Assembly. I have also been rewarding a student each week who I feel has gone above and beyond, linking into one of the values.

Congratulations to the following students who have been nominated since April:
