TRAINING

the emergency team/candidates to become familiar with the building and test their command competence in different emergency/rescue scenarios in real-time.

I CAN DO THE SPOUTING! Aside from meeting erudite personalities in this industry one of the delights of doing what I do enables me to spout forth and sing companies and peoples’ praises when they are far too modest to do so themselves…so here goes!

HFR Solutions have just recently been awarded the industry accreditation from RenewableUK and GWO for its offshore wind industry basic safety training courses. Basic safety training courses constitutes 5 basic modules however the company has the facility to not only provide these initial courses it can offer re-validation courses, maintenance courses and of course ascertain competency frameworks for clients over a 2 year period. As Stu states it is almost an ‘holistic’ approach to training.

COMMUNITY INVESTMENT It is heartening to learn and to hear, certainly in today’s society of selfless and thoughtful business practices as profits made at HFR Solutions many enterprises benefit. One of those services is LIVES (Lincolnshire Integrated Voluntary Emergency Service) working in partnership with HFR Solutions whom sponsor a fully equipped rapid response vehicle manned by an emergency care team.

Another marvellous cause benefitting from the sponsorship, is for training and equipment for two (out of only 17 in the country) specialist Fire Accelerant Detection dogs, whom detect fire attacks/arson.

The company has also funded and sponsored a new British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support (FES) vehicle to operate in North and North East Lincolnshire, providing support and relief to people affected by fire or other emergencies. In addition HFR Solutions were also awarded the title of 1 'Social Enterprise of the Year 2014' by the Bridlington & Yorkshire Coast Chamber of Commerce.

THE FUTURE Stu comments “it is exciting to be based at the hub of the renewable industry with big companies all at different phases of development within the offshore market. We hope to provide and deliver competitive and first class training solutions to existing and new companies alike.”

Stu goes on to say that “their Director Nick Granger is a visionary and has the gift of foresight to drive this company forward.”

IN A NUTSHELL

It has been quite an education speaking with Stu and think it is quite remarkable that this innovative company has broken the mould literally, I believe that there are a few fire services whom share the same ideal, however it would be in deference to the ex-fire officer and to Nick Granger and his team to encourage other fire services to adopt this attitude/initiative for all to benefit, companies and communities unite!

We shall look forward to speaking with HFR Solutions in future issues to find out about their continued successes and pending accolades!!
