www.mindcandy.com Mind Candy has Universal Pictures International Entertainment signed as its global distribution partner for the highly anticipated, first-ever Moshi Monsters Movie. Slated for theatrical release in the UK and Ireland in December 2013, distribution includes Home Entertainment, Digital and TV. The movie will be followed by a DVD release in Easter 2014. This strategic global relationship with Universal Pictures will open up
the Moshi Monsters brand, bring further depth to the popular characters and expand the rich world to new fans and markets. As a sneak peek at BLE, Mind Candy will unveil ‘Moshi Monsters: The Movie’ trailer for the first time. Capturing the boys’ market, Mind Candy’s brand new IP ‘Moshi Karts’ will launch an app, expected early 2014. Moshi Karts is a free-to-play action racer for mobile and tablet, and as well as aiming at the core Moshi fans, it will engage with an older audience of boys aged 12 years plus. There are multiple tracks and karts featuring popular Moshi Monsters characters and with Katsuma as the lead and a range of additional vehicles, the game is rich with opportunities for merchandising next year. For girls, Poppet is stepping into the limelight this year as Mind Candy
develops her standalone brand further. The company has launched a dedicated Poppet Boutique space in Hamleys, stocking her toys, arts and crafts, jewellery, toiletries and apparel. With new packaging to differentiate Poppet, her character outside of Moshi Monsters will feature a blue headband, which appears on all her new merchandise. To help support her brand, the ‘Talking Poppet’ app for iOS and Android devices will launch at the end of the year.
