There’s always a great buzz at Toymaster, and this year everyone seems to be in high spirits despite the current state of the market. We also got some great reactions to our lines, which is what makes the show so worthwhile. For us
this year Spirograph is the big one, it’s been rebranded and refreshed but still holds all the appeal that the product is known for. The new branding in particular has been very well received among the Toymaster members. At the end of the day, you can’t fault Toymaster; it always goes smoothly and it’s a very easy and pleasant show to work.

Toymaster is an important show for KSG, as it is our shop window into the independent trade. KSG has always been a firm supporter of Toymaster and the show, and the support we receive in return continues to grow each year. KSG is known for its brand
Sequin Art, and each year we continue to bring new innovative new designs to the market place, 2013 is no exception. Retailers seem to be more than pleased with this year’s offering, and we received many complimentary comments on the range. All round we had a very enjoyable show. It was a busy show during the day, then in
the evening a very relaxing enjoyable time with the excellent entertainment laid on by Toymaster. It gave us the chance to socialise with friends both old and new.

Peterkin We were extremely satisfied with this year’s show, and our order book was up on last year, which is always good. There was a really nice and positive vibe throughout the show and in the Billiard Room where our stand was. We have a really strong presence in that room every year, and it’s a really good position to have. Toymaster is
very important
to us and it absolutely kick starts the second half of the year for us. Toymaster is a very important account to us. The star product for us this year has got to be Sea
Monkeys. It really draws the crowds in and its brand heritage and excellent reputation make it a no-brainer for retailers.
John Crane The Toymaster Show 2013 was one to remember for John Crane. The show was a complete success with us opening over 30 brand new accounts and orders totalling over £100,000 being taken. We are absolutely thrilled with the results from the show. Our product Woofer stood out the most on our stand, and gained a lot of good reactions. I also have to say that the show was fantastically organised and really professional, so a big thanks to Toymaster as well.

Orchard Toys Now that Toymaster has opened the doors to all independents, the Harrogate show is perhaps the most important show for Orchard Toys for seeing our key independent customers. We were unsure whether the current economic climate would have an effect on the business we did this year, so have been pleasantly surprised to repeat what we did in 2012, with the opening of four new accounts. We always have a positive reaction to our lines, even though they’re squeezed into such a small display space. We like to launch a new line at the show and this year, ‘Baa Baa, a colour matching game’ was very well received, with every customer adding some to their orders. Toymaster members were also keen on the four lines chosen to go into the Christmas catalogue and like the idea that the ‘Giant Road Jigsaw’ and the ‘On the Farm Jigsaw Playmat’ will be shown together in a lifestyle photograph. The Toymaster team and the staff of the Majestic Hotel always make us feel at home. I’m
sure the retailers feel the same way. The environment created by the place and the people plus the entertainment laid on in the evenings will always be a recipe for a great show.
