Bandai has a new range of playsets under the branding ‘Interior Design by Harumika’. Girls can choose from the Boutique Bedroom or Luxury Living Room, build their room and then style and accessorise furniture pieces using the Harumika wrap and lock system. In Classic Harumika, the new dance-themed
Designer Dress Form sets are now available, along with the hot pink Style Studio.
The Height Adjustable Easel is in John Crane’s Tidlo range, and has a height adjustable feature allowing children of different heights to play simultaneously. The easel comes with a chalk board, a magnetic white board, and a paper roll. The set comes with chalks, eraser and four plastic paint pots. Also new is H2-Whoa! from B. The picture appears as children draw and then slowly fades away as it dries. The four pens included fit away in the board. H2-Whoa! has two sides, so while one side dries, children can draw on the other side.

EcoToys offers Happy Mais, which uses no glue. Mais is made, under patent, from Materbi, a 100% biodegradable cornstarch. The pieces stick together using the minimum amount of water. Happy Mais comes in a variety of colours and sizes that can be cut or squeezed to form other shapes.
Makedo, from Marbel, has a range of creative construction kits on the market which makes use of leftover packaging materials without tape, glue or scissors. Box Props is new to the range with the new Scru part, the first child friendly cardboard screw. Meadow Kids products are designed in the UK;
the Mermaid Create a Scene allow kids to make their own scene with different scenery sheets, stamp designs and pens.
Peers Hardy is planning to launch a new craft kit range for Hello Kitty.
The range will feature the Bracelet Kit which contains everything needed to make a simple bracelet topped with a Kitty charm. Also available is the Paint Your Own Money Box, and the Knitting Doll Kit which includes a Kitty knitting doll with a yarn and knitting tool to make cord jewellery. The Peekaboo Stampers personalise stationery. The Bag Making Kit, The Kitty Cookie Kit, Craft Basket and Sewing Kit complete the range.
As shown merchandised on the Artstraws five-sided spinner display stand, the Creation Station range consists of wiggle eyes, pompoms, feathers and pipe cleaners, lollipop sticks and glue spreaders. Creation Station products are mostly consumable for repeat purchases, all at good margins and sensible prices. The spinner displays more than £1,000 at retail, takes up 0.75m2 of floor space, and comes with a brochure laid out as a planogram for the stand. Artstraws can also provide suggested bestselling ranges for available wall space. Artstraws launched the Creation Station range
more than 10 years ago. Around half of Artstraws’ turnover goes into the UK pre-school and primary school markets. The Kids Kits section of the range will soon be
relaunched in clam-shell packaging. Artstraws will support the relaunch with a substantial trade promotion.
