Education Studies investigates how education systems develop, how children and adults learn and what the key issues, policies and debates are in education today. The course is relevant to those who wish to enter a variety of careers, including those who seek to qualify as a teacher. Practical opportunities such as placements, research and other activities in educational settings offer opportunities to gain valuable experience. The course is taught by an enthusiastic team with experience in schools, colleges and higher education.

In addition to the standard entry requirements applicants will be expected to have achieved GCSE Mathematics (or equivalent) at Grade C or above. We welcome international applications and applications from students with a range of non-traditional educational or professional qualifications.
This programme covers the range of technical topics and associated areas that would be expected of a modern engineer entering industry today. This includes electrical, electronic and mechanical principles as well as materials and engineering design for manufacturing processes. Students learn the importance of ethical technical and business practices and focus on sustainability and 3D design and simulation. Successful students have the opportunity to progress onto the integrated MEng (Masters) programme. The course is supported by local engineering employers through the Northants Engineering Training Partnership (NETP).

This course aims to develop the technical, communication and management skills required by technician engineers in today’s engineering industry. It integrates mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering with design, manufacture and business studies. Students relate theory to practice at their place of work.
