This course offers an excellent opportunity for those working with offenders and other vulnerable members of society to understand the challenges such groups present, examine relevant academic perspectives and learn new skills, ideas and techniques which apply directly to the workplace.

Paramedic Science FdSc


UCAS code: B781 UCAS description: FdSc/Para Location: Park Campus Attendance: Two years full-time


Entry requirements: All applicants should have five or more GCSEs at grade C or above, including English Language and/ or Literature and a Science and/or Mathematics GCSE at a minimum of grade C or equivalent qualifications. Plus one of the following: GCE A level or AVCE BTEC National Certificate or Diploma Kitemarked Access to HE. Alternatively applicants with the above qualifications included in the UCAS tariff will be expected to achieve a minimum of 240 UCAS tariff points. Each applicant is considered on an individual basis. Applicants must have a full UK manual driving licence.


This programme provides students with the academic and practice competencies to become a paramedic, eligible for registration with the Health Professions Council (HPC). Students undertake placements in ambulance service areas as well as in other departments such as theatre and A&E.

Photographic Practice BA (Hons)


UCAS code: W640 UCAS description: BA/PhotoPr Location: Avenue Campus Attendance: Three years full-time or five years part-time.


Entry requirements: Standard entry requirements apply. A typical offer would be around 240-300 UCAS tariff points or a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design, National Diploma in Photography or equivalent. Applicants who do not meet our standard requirements but who are able to demonstrate an appropriate level of ability will be considered. Students with HND Photography or equivalent, seeking direct entry onto stage two or three will be considered. Applicants are invited for interview with a portfolio of their work.


The course is largely practice-based and encourages the exploration of the photograph within a range of contemporary practices. Students will be introduced to different processes and techniques and have access to excellent traditional and digital specialist facilities to develop their portfolio.
