The University of Northampton provides a full range of high quality support and facilities, all designed to enhance your student experience.
Our Student Services help desks are the first port of call for any students requiring help, information and advice, with our professional, experienced and approachable teams here to help you both before and after your join the University.
We have a wealth of knowledge and experience on a diverse range of student issues and, if we don’t know the answer, we will know someone who does!
We received a 100% satisfaction rating in the Student Services Survey 2011.
Counselling and Mental Health Team
We offer a free, confidential and non-judgmental service. As well as providing counselling this team is a source of general information and advice.
Access Ability Team
We are committed to ensuring disabled students can achieve their full potential and this team is here to help. The service is available to all students living with a disability, including those with physical and sensory impairments, specific learning differences such as dyslexia, autism spectrum, mental health difficulties or medical conditions.
We can, where appropriate, provide you with a diverse range of support including:
• Accessing Disabled Students’ Allowance • Providing dyslexia screening tests • Arranging extra time in exams • Priority accommodation arrangements • 1:1 specialist study skills support
This service received a satisfaction rating of 97% in our Student Services Survey 2011.

Our Financial Guidance team is here to offer information and support on student finance issues, including student loans, grants and bursaries. The team is also here to offer help with budgeting and money management – a service which received a 93% satisfaction rating in the Student Survey 2011.
We allocate over £300,000 to students each academic year through a variety of different funds.
Multi-Faith Chaplaincy
We have a team of Chaplains from different faiths who work together to serve everyone at the University. Our Multi-Faith Chaplaincy Centre is based on Park Campus and students are all welcome to drop in at any time to talk, meet others or simply to enjoy some quiet time.
Multi-faith prayer rooms with washing facilities are provided in the Chaplaincy Centre at Park Campus and are also available at Avenue Campus. Events include drop-in lunches, Buddhist relaxation and meditation sessions and yoga classes.
