Digital Stars Shine in Screen Booth T
he Screen (USA) booth at GRAPH EXPO 2010 is high- lighting Screen’s newest and digital printing and prepress
technology. In booth #1637, Screen representatives are demonstrating the opportunities print service providers can cultivate in the commercial, pub- lishing, packaging, sign, and transac- tional printing markets. “There won’t be just one star of the
show in the Screen booth, but several,” says Mike Fox, President. “We’re giving visitors plenty to see and compare in digital printing, computer-to-plate, and workflow products. Interest in Screen’s inkjet technology has been enormous, especially in the past two years, but new and existing customers are still genu- inely excited by how our CTP and work- flow solutions fit into their business.”
Digital printing systems The Truepress Jet520 high speed continuous inkjet press has established itself as the best selling device in its class. With more than 200 installations of the full-color inkjet web press world- wide, its reputation as the most reliable and stable production printer on the market continues to grow.
Flexo CTP Screen Truepress Jet1600UV-F “Different print demonstrations will
make it abundantly clear why the True- press Jet520 is the system of choice for high quality variable printing of books, newspapers, direct mail and transpromo- tional materials,” says Bill Brunone, Vice President of targeted inkjet systems. Attendees also can see the True-
press Jet2500UV delivering images on roll-fed and flatbed format substrates using its high resolution printing heads. The Truepress Jet2500UV’s eight-level
grayscale printing heads and maximum output resolution of 1,500 dpi combine to produce realistic photographs and crisp text that rival offset printing. Screen introduced the Truepress Jet1600UV-F to provide a cost effective and easy to use flatbed alternative for wide-format printing applications. It features two types of UV ink (for flex- ible media and rigid media) that can be stretched by up to 200 percent, as well as cast or bent.
Screen is the global leader in ther- mal CTP technology. Screen’s PlateRite platesetters boast the widest range of plate sizes, fastest speeds and great- est automation. GRAPH EXPO 2010 attendees will be able to investigate two reliable platesetters that improve the quality of printed labels, flexible pack- aging, cartons and corrugated cardboard packages. The PlateRite FX1524 and PlateRite FX870II image flexo plates, letterpress plates and thermal ablative film at a choice of 2,400 dpi, 2,540 dpi or 4,800 dpi resolutions with screen rul- ings up to 200 lpi.
Workflow Workflow applications are among the
most popular aspects of a Screen exhibit and this year won’t be any different. Cur- rent and prospective Screen workflow users will receive in-depth demonstra- tions of Trueflow SE Ver. 7.2. The latest version of Screen’s flagship PDF- and JDF-based workflow management sys- tem optimizes print production like never before. Its sophisticated tools manage production to multiple CTP recorders, digital presses and proofing systems.
