Pete Gooding makes Ibiza his own
GIVEN his legendarily long love affair with Ibiza, it’s only fi tting that Pete Gooding has now done the decent thing and made it his permanent residence, setting up studio and home to concentrate on his ten monthly gigs at sunset havens Mambo and Savannah. You can catch him for further sun-kissed adventures on various dates at S.O.S. at Sands and the beautiful El Chiringuito, renovated last year, on Es Cavallet beach.
With indoor dates for We Love and Hope vs. Audio Therapy at Space, and Warung at Privilege, plus weekly dates around Europe displaying his diverse DJ and production skills, it’s going to be a busy summer. In the unlikely event you’re unable to hear him in club action, though, you can still catch Pete’s radio show The Global Network, now on over 70 stations worldwide, including Ibiza Global Radio, every Thursday at 1am.
Dutch DJ returns to Pacha
AFTER last year’s success as Pure Pacha resident, Sander Kleinenberg returns for a series of dates that see him teaming up with club royalty such as Renaissance (27th August) and Zouk (3rd September), with guests including Sasha and Chus & Ceballos, as well as his own This Is parties where you can catch friends like Fedde Le
Grand and Darren Emerson. With a self-titled album complete and due for release on Little Mountain in September, the closing party on 10th September will mark the culmination of a season in which you can hear Sander tantalising audiences with a taster of his new tracks, including the superb next single ‘Maniac’.
Digweed releases new ‘Structures’ compilation
Marcus Schulz’s eight-hour Ibiza trip
APPEARING twice this year for Carl Cox, John Digweed arrives at Space on 13th July and 17th August with a bag full of Bedrock exclusives and remixes from the likes of Nick Warren, Wiretappeur and Nick Muir, all released 12th July on double compilation, ‘Structures’. With a bonus DVD containing ‘Eye Of The Storm’, a documentary fi lmed in South America, and John’s fi rst offi cial live recording from the ‘Bedrock Creations Party’ at Vagabond, Miami, this March, it’s essential for any fans. “I am really happy with the way this album has turned out, building from some cool house tracks to techno with everything in between,” says John on his labour of love. “South America has always been a great place to play as they get the music and want to party,” he adds. “I was also lucky enough to do some shows around Carnival which is an amazing sight to see.”
012
THREE, it would seem, is the magic number for Marcus Schulz. Having tackled the notoriously difficult third album with consummate ease, ‘Do You Dream?’ (out now on Armada music) entered the iTunes top ten at the start of the summer, while he also celebrated his third year as Ministry resident. It’s 10th August we’re most looking forward to, however, when Marcus touches down at Armada’s Amnesia night to begin a six date residency. What’s more, to kick things off in the style fans have become accustomed to, the first date sees him performing an extended solo takeover, playing an eight-hour set, journeying through everything from melodic progressive house to euphoric trance, and carrying the crowd from the deepest darkness of night to the blinking beginnings of day.
