Sexy knots graced the Yang Du stage at On|Off Presents this season. Working with a L’Oréal Professionnel styling team, Herman Ho, Senior Artistic Director at Headmasters, tells you how to recreate his look.

STEP 1

“Think of pretty girls from Paris with attitude and character,” says Herman. “Then prep the hair with L’Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Pli Thermo-fi xing spray for instant volume, and backcomb it to make it even bigger.”

STEP 2

It is essential to remember the ponytail needs to be off-centre. “Fix the ponytail off-centre to the crown – if it’s in the middle it looks horrible – tie it; slightly teasing it back to create texture and volume in the hair.”

STEP 3

“Roll the ponytail into a knot and tie the ends through the bun and pin it. Then back-tease the slick areas to create more random texture in the hair.” At this stage be careful to ensure the Kirby grips are not visible in the ponytail.

STEP 4

“Finish with L’Oréal Professionnel tecni.art Fix Design and Fix Max spray to keep it in place,” adds Herman. “It’s a really simple style; just remember to keep it quite naturally done.”
