Rigby launches new calibre J
ohn Rigby & Co. is launching a new calibre, the .416 Rigby No. 2. The
round is designed for Rigby’s Rising Bite double rifl es. The new round is designed by Dr. Eckhard Stief.
Using the .416 Rigby’s original design, the No. 2 features a rim to the cartridge which aids extraction. Cartridge pressure and velocities remain unchanged. Marc Newton, managing director of Rigby, said: “We are delighted to work with Dr. Stief, to develop a new Rigby calibre for our Rising Bite rifl es. By adding a rim to the original .416 Rigby it modernises the cartridge and brings it into 21st century.”
