Northern Shooting Show rocks Harrogate
Shooting show exceeds all expectation for both organiser and exhibitors alike
T
he Northern Shooting Show (NSS) has made its mark on the trade as a permanent fi xture, after posting a record attendance of over 19,000 visitors.
The show, now in its second year, played host to 264 exhibitors – an increase of nearly 50 per cent over the previous year. The show took place 6th-7th May at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate.
Speaking the day after the event,
a tired but jubilant show organiser, Richard Stokoe, told Tackle & Guns: “It’s always a pleasant feeling when a show exceeds expectations. The feedback from exhibitors has been nothing short of astounding.” T&G understands that big names including Blaser, Swarovski and Ruag, to name just three, have already pledged for an even bigger presence at next year’s event.

The praise is echoed by Tony Belas, managing director of Daystate, who told us: “It’s clear that the NSS is here to stay, the show attendance on the Saturday was probably double last year and the same on the Sunday. What numbers don’t tell is the great attitude that many visitors brought with them. All of our staff had a lot of fun chatting with people, it was a great experience.” Asked how much room there is to

grow the show, Richard told us: “We have the full support of the venue and are now looking at how we can take the show to the next level. Exhibitors at this year’s event have already asked for more space and for next year’s event we will certainly be looking at a temporary structure that will be able to cater for the increased demand.
“There are areas where we see
growth coming from and we will be looking at building NSS 2018 into an even bigger and more comprehensive shooting event. Watch this space!” Richard has committed to the Northern Shooting Show for another three years at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate. “We’ve also moved the show
forward a week so that it doesn’t clash with Badminton Horse Trials.” Dates for the next Northern Shooting Show are 12th-13th May, 2018.
