Beretta Airguns by Umarex
Beretta is very well known in the world of Firearms, but what about the Beretta range of pellet Airguns?
T
he fl agship of the range is the Beretta M92 FS pistol, manufactured under licence by Umarex in Germany. It was fi rst launched at the IWA Show in 1998 as the third variation of CO2
pistol by Umarex,
following in the footsteps of the Walther CP88 in 1996 and the Colt 1911 in 1997. Each pistol is based on the model of an 8-shot revolving cylinder magazine for pellets, hidden inside the pistol housing. The double action trigger cycles the magazine for the next shot, cocks the hammer and fi nally releases the shot. Like all Umarex-made replica
fi rearms, the Beretta’s design is thoroughly checked and accepted by Beretta itself for authenticity before full production begins. Each Beretta M92 FS is packaged in its own Italian-style polymer case, just like the real fi rearms, maintaining the Beretta Corporate
identity even though the pistols are not made in Italy. The mainstay of the Beretta M92 FS range is the black model with polymer grips, but it is also available in Nickel and with the option of wooden grips. The Beretta XX-Treme is the black model with additional mount, top point sight and mock suppressor as a complete kit. It’s an all- singing, all-dancing kit capable of the best accuracy straight out of the box. Full production of the Beretta M92 FS is carried out in the Umarex factory in Arnsberg, Germany. The site produces around 300,000 guns in total per year, carried out by over 400 production workers (including 16 apprentices). After production, Umarex employs around 200 people for sales, marketing, quality control, press and other duties. The Umarex production facility and offi ce complex is certainly a sight to behold!
