Call to Action: National Fishing Month


This year sees National Fishing Month celebrate its Silver Jubilee. It begins on the 21st July, and concludes on the 3rd September.

ational Fishing Month was created 25 years ago to encourage every family member to have a go at fishing. Fishing is for everyone! “Fishery owners, organisers and angling coaches give up their valuable time to support National Fishing Month, so please take this opportunity to have a go at this wonderful sport,” says the Angling Trade Association’s chairman, Naidre Werner. “We need the whole trade to pull together on this from dealers and upwards. Dealers need to be aware of what’s going on around them as potential new customers come in to find out more about

any kind of discipline. If it wasn’t for fishing and athletics I dread to think where I would be right now. Between them, they gave me something to focus on and kept me off the streets. That’s why I support National Fishing Month and urge everyone to get involved and take part. Everyone I have ever taken fishing has fallen in love with the sport.” Want to help out?
