angler, comes to Marlin with many years of experience in conservation outreach, fishery management and service on the Highly Migratory Species Advisory Panel to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). DUO to go direct inAustralia
Premium Japanese lure brand DUO is changing its sales strategy in the Australianmarket by selling direct to dealers in the country. “After two distribution deals
that did not allow us to utilise the full potential of our brand, we have decided to supply themarket directly fromthe headquarters in Japan (with a plan to establish a separate branch in the future),” explained the company’s exportmanager, Martin Bakos. DUO has had several previous distribution deals in Australia
but has had some issues with stock and supply – something it is keen to rectify going forward. Martin continued: “We do have
large plans for the Australian market and understand that it’s one that requires a focused approach.We want to let our customer network know that we are serious about establishing DUO as the leader in the field of fishing lures and do have plans to offer special Australian colours and special tune versions,which would be best fitted for the local species.” Martin and his teamalso
believe that some of DUO’s recent launches,which have not yet reached the Australian market, such as Realis Pencil Popper, Realis Onimasu and especially Realis Fangbaits,will verymuch suit it. “We do believe that our ‘Total
Package’ approach, highlighting both ourmanufacturing philosophy of full non- outsourced production in Japan as well as our approach to the versatile product range, offers a perfectmatch for DUO to establish itself as a premier fishing lure brand in Australia.”
