Phoenix Poland could be your
fromthe flames
It’s not been an easy journey, but Poland-based brand Phoenix has arrived at a stable point in its history and is nowseeking growth on an international scale. Tackle TradeWorld gives you the lowdown on this young company.
“T
he beginnings ofmy company, as you can imagine, were not easy,” explains Phoenix Fishing Polska’s Tomasz Duer.
“Many anglers were quite sceptical aboutmy products to begin with, as they are with any new brand that does not havemuch esteem.” The situation changed significantly for
Tomasz when one of Poland’s most prestigious fishing tournaments was won two years in a row mainly thanks to his products. “This was a real turning point formy brand,”
he continues. “I knew the products were good, but this served as proof for many of the unsure anglers.” This beginning, in 2012, has led to the
company growing to a size of 14 permanent staff and growth into exportmarkets such as Switzerland, France, Bulgaria and Hungary. Tomasz continues: “Our top products are
artificial soft lures; all kinds of them– all made of very good qualitymaterial. Each has specificmaterial chosen for itsmanufacture depending on the action we want to achieve. Our company’s offer also includes lures, roosters, a full range of jigheads, weights and spinning tails. These are complemented by an assortment of fishing accessories, ranging fromsafety pins and swivels and ending with braided lines and boxes.” Before Tomasz started his lure-making
adventure, he spent a long time researching the market, deciding which lures to create and which species required specifi c designs and so on.
The first bait he launched was the Twister
35mm, closely followed by the Bleak Shad 55mm. Today, its range of products reaches more than 40 soft lures, 30 hard baits and over 50 jigheads and weights. Currently, one of themore interesting items
is KIKO – fragrance bait, in 3in (7.5cm) and 2in (5cm). These lures are dedicatedmainly to catch big perch but have also been known to land some impressive pike. Lures that complement
this are the Bleak Shad, Bleak Shad Pro, Triple Shad and Power Impact. Their basic features
of performance are to deceptively imitate the shape of a small fish, which in combination with the Phoenix Fin Jig is a very effective weapon for perch. However, these lures are not just designed for perch, they are versatile and capable of catchingmany predators. Phoenix also has plenty to offer anglers who
specifically seek out zander and pike, including the Diablo, Shiner, Power Fat, Power Impact and Mastershad. “Depending on the season, the specific
species of fish caught and the size of the bait used will always change. However,we certainly have a lure for everyone,” says Tomasz.
