PREVIEW 2017 Firstgrade Recycling Systems present Disc Screen Outdoor area stand OA120
FIRSTGRADE Recycling Systems will present a new Disc Screen product at RWM.
The company are no strangers to the Birmingham-based, business-connecting show and this will be the company’s 15th consecutive year at RWM.
The product is designed for removal of oversize items – typically over 10cm – from a waste stream, prior to further processing.
Firstgrade Recycling Systems Managing Director Alan Valentine said: “Screening at a large hole-size can be diffi cult using conventional screens.
“Large items easily block or peg in l arge holes, while long, thin items can pass through.”
Firstgrade’s Disc Screen has six rotating
shafts – oversize material rides over the top of the fl ower shaped discs, while undersize items pass between the discs onto a conveyor below. The Disc Screen has a relatively high volume throughput, for a small footprint and power requirement.
The motivation for the Disc Screen came from a need to tackle oversized materials
such as wood, compost, cardboard and plastic, which are all diffi cult materials to screen.
Firstgrade will also have a Static Trommel Screen model T254, which has a large 2.5m diameter and 7.2m long barrel.
Alan added: “T254 is built for the heaviest duties with 8cm bearings; 50cm-diameter wheels; and is provided with replaceable punched plate screens.”
Firstgrade specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke recycling machinery for waste screening and sorting.
Their main products include Trommel Screens, picking stations, air/water separation systems, vibrating screens, elevators and conveyors.

HSM UK Ltd display range of innovative products RWM Hall 5, stand 5Q91
GERMAN bale pressers and PET solutions and document shedder manufacturer, HSM GmbH + Co. KG are exhibiting their innovative product solutions at RWM.
Live demonstrations will be given of the vertical baling press HSM V-Press 860 Plus, which has a pressing force of 548kN and provides energy-saving technology; making it the economic and ecological solution for all disposal activities.
Thanks to the extremely stable press guiding plate, the HSM V-Press 860 eff ortlessly presses packaging material such as cardboard and plastic fi lm.

REFUSE Vehicle Solutions Ltd (RVS) will be hard to miss at this year’s show with no less than four vehicles on display.
A vehicle from the company’s rapidly growing Hire Fleet will be stationed on the roundabout by the arena. RVS are also presenting two brand new vehicles from the company’s RediTruck range, which will fl ank the entrance to the show and include Devon Contract Waste’s new Scania P320 with Dennis compaction unit, purchased from RVS.
Spencer Law, RVS Managing Director, said: “Sales of RediTrucks so far this year, with over 12 orders, proves customers often need a quick turnaround on vehicles to respond to changes in their market place and meet new demands on their fl eet.”
The fi nal-of-four vehicles, the 15T DAF refuse truck with a newly-remanufactured 2008 body, will showcase the company’s engineering prowess on stand Q80-R81.

The shredder-press combination HSM SP 5088 will also be at the HSM stand, which combines the large document shredder FA 500 3 with a channel baling press.
It is suitable for use in archives or central offi ces for destroying documents up to security level P-5, including large volumes, which are then pressed into bales of up to 90kg, depending on requirements.
enables a signifi cant reduction in power consumption and drive power with an increase in throughput.
This technology reduces the cycle time by up to 40% and due to the special pump technology, the machines are particularly quiet. The bales reach a material-dependent weight of up to 480kg.
HSM’s stand will host a solution for destroying hard drives through the company’s Powerline HDS 230 mechanical hard drive shredder. Digital data carriers are shredded into the smallest particles via a robust, full-steel cutting mechanism; making restoration practically impossible.
