The Waste Group expands in Dorset

THE Waste Group are celebrating ten years of successful waste management services across Dorset.

Formerly known as A&D Skips and founded in 2007, the company underwent a six-fi gure branding transformation in 2017 with a sleek, new name and logo to better refl ect the direction the company is heading in.

Alongside skip hire, The Waste Group off er a whole range of waste management services, including asbestos removal, yard- tipping, and recycling at the company’s dedicated waste disposal facility.

Overseeing The Waste Group’s growth and expansion, Managing Director Tim Ankers spoke of his vision to change the

perception of the waste industry, through sustainability and customer service.

He said: “We’re proud of updating our identity to match our growing client list.

“We’ve grown a lot since our small beginnings in 2007. It’s about time our branding refl ected that too.”

Not only do they have educational projects involving local schools in the pipeline, they plan on utilising cutting-edge technology to streamline their operations, with the aim of becoming an outstanding waste and recycling company.

The Waste Group aim to change the preconception of the waste industry and make it more environmentally-minded.

A TEESSIDE mechanic has set up his own skip manufacturing fi rm at 23 – with a view to be the best in the business.

Adam Strange, from Thornaby-on-Tees started his business after taking out a loan while working tirelessly as a mechanic, and eventually North East Skip Manufacturers Ltd was born.

Adam, spent 14 months researching the market and is working on orders and repairs out of a Darlington unit. He said: “It was a huge gamble leaving a steady paid job, but I’ve always wanted to be in a position where nobody can tell me how to run my business.”

The idea to run his own company came after hearing quality skips were in demand.

Tim added: “Europe is miles ahead when it comes to how waste is handled, and with continuous advances in recycling, we all have the opportunity to become more sustainable.”

The company will still execute the same level of customer service, the same competitive prices and the same waste management expertise, but with a new base of operations.
