Championship line up, grand champion Feithy Sensation Lilian 136 from the Jones family, Jack Watts’ reserve champion Hillbarn Shottle Deva 7, and honourable mention Woodmarsh Doorman Zandra 3 from the Wilson family.


Celtic Dairy Showcase was held at Carmarthen in March and what was lacking in quantity wasn’t compromised in quality with David Hodgson selecting an impressive final championship line up.

hampionship honours went to Feithy Sensation Lilian 136, winner of the five year old class from the Jones family. Classified EX93, she calved with her fourth in December and was shown giving 52kg a day, having produced 12,196kg at 5.31%bf and 3.24%p in her third lactation. She stood honourable mention at Celtic Dairy Showcase 2015.


Describing the champion David Hodgson said: “She is a really


good powerhouse of a cow with a nailed on udder, tremendous frame, legs and feet. It was her legs and feet that gave her advantage over a fantastic framed cow with a beautiful udder in reserve.” Rounding off a successful night for Jack Watts, who notched up three class winners with his three entries, was Hillbarn Shottle Deva 7 who took reserve spot. Classified VG89 she calved in October


with her second and is giving 50kg a day, she is out of an EX93-4E classified Jordan daughter. She stood champion calf at the Shropshire qualifier and was first in-calf heifer at the Western Spring Show. Honourable mention was


Woodmarsh Doorman Zandra 3 VG88 from the Wilson family and who came through as winner of the milking yearling class. She is the eighth generation of VG or EX, her
