As CEO, President, and Chairman of the Board of Express Employment Professionals, every day I see firsthand the difference a job can make – the hope and fulfillment it can bring to people’s lives.


Like former U.S. President Ronald Reagan, I firmly believe,“The best social program is a job.” But it is more than that. It is the pursuit of happiness. It is being able to provide for your family. It is the promise of a future. That is why my own life’s work has been about helping people succeed.


For more than four decades, I have seen lives drastically changed by just one job. I have had the great privilege to be a part of real-life stories like the ones you will find in this book – where extraordinary men and women saw a big opportunity in even the smallest of jobs. I truly believe every job is an opportunity, a chance to make something of yourself, to better your life.
